The project partners have focused on improving the poor quality and limited capacity of existing road infrastructure, which hinders economic cooperation, delays freight and passenger traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project objective is to enhance cross-border connectivity by introducing several key investments. On the Polish side, the Voivodeship Road No. 850 in Tomasz\u00f3w Lubelski will be modernised. This road, a vital link between National Road No. 17 and the Hrebenne\u2013Rava-Ruska border crossing, serves both freight traffic and commuters. Currently, traffic exceeds 9,100 vehicles per day. The project will also address low load-bearing capacity, narrow lanes, a lack of pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure, as well as outdated intersections that create safety risks and delays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ukrainian partner, on the other hand, will carry out three major reconstruction works on the National Road H-22 Ustyluh\u2013Lutsk\u2013Rivne in the town of Klevan and the village of Zorya, providing access to the regional multimodal freight terminal. The current infrastructure, designed for just 370 vehicles per day, will soon be insufficient, with traffic expected to increase. The H-22 road is also part of the EU-UA Solidarity Lines initiative aimed at improving logistics, safety, and border crossing efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main outputs of the <em>Bridge850PL-UA<\/em> project include the reconstruction of over 10.5 km of the Voivodeship Road No. 850 in Poland and the reconstruction of 2.1 km of road connections between the Klevan and Zorya communities and the H-22 strategic national road in Ukraine. These infrastructure works are expected to reduce travel time and improve logistics coordination.
