{"id":36909,"date":"2025-05-15T22:35:04","date_gmt":"2025-05-15T20:35:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pl-ua.eu\/?p=36909"},"modified":"2025-06-24T23:29:17","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T21:29:17","slug":"modern-medicine-without-borders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pl-ua.eu\/en\/modern-medicine-without-borders\/","title":{"rendered":"Modern medicine without borders"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 15th May 2025, an international conference was held in Ostro\u0142\u0119ka to inaugurate the implementation of a large infrastructure project entitled \u201cA joint initiative of The Dr. J\u00f3zef Psarski Mazovian Specialist Hospital in Ostro\u0142\u0119ka and First Lviv Territorial Medical Union in Lviv as increasing the availability of health care services\u201d (acronym&nbsp;<em>EMERGENCY<\/em>), co-funded by the PL-UA Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Project partners are the Dr. J\u00f3zef Psarski Mazovian Specialist Hospital in Ostro\u0142\u0119ka and Municipal non-profit enterprise \u201cLviv Territorial Medical Union Multidisciplinary Clinical hospital of Emergency and intensive Care\u201d. Together, they are working to improve the accessibility and quality of healthcare in the Mazovia and Lviv regions, strengthening the ability of both regions to respond effectively to life and health emergencies. The total project budget exceeds 3 million euros. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"widget-quote\">\n  <blockquote class=\"widget-quote__blockquote\" style=\"max-width: 600px\">\n    <p>Cooperation across borders not only brings people together \u2013 it saves lives. This project is real help for patients on both sides of the border<\/p>\n    <footer class=\"widget-quote__blockquote__footer\">\n     <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pl-ua.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Pawel-Natkowski.webp\" alt=\"Zdj\u0119cie sylwetki\">        <p>emphasised Pawe\u0142 Rafa\u0142 Natkowski, Director of Ostro\u0142\u0119ka Hospital<\/p>\n    <\/footer>\n  <\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>A modern helicopter landing site will be built in Ostro\u0142\u0119ka next to the Hospital Emergency Department. This will reduce the time it takes to transport patients in life-threatening conditions from over an hour to just a few minutes \u2013 which is crucial in situations requiring immediate intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In turn, the hospital in Lviv will be equipped with a high-tech angiograph, which will enable fast and precise treatment of cardiovascular diseases such as strokes and heart attacks. In the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine and the increasing number of patients, this equipment is of strategic importance for the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project will benefit more than 22,500 patients annually. Thanks to the modernisation of infrastructure and the implementation of common medical procedures, the inhabitants of both regions will gain access to modern, effective and fast life-saving care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project also includes training and workshops for medical staff \u2013 a joint activity between doctors from Poland and Ukraine that will allow for the exchange of experience in cardiology, vascular surgery and emergency medicine and the development of modern clinical procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"widget-quote\">\n  <blockquote class=\"widget-quote__blockquote\" style=\"max-width: 600px\">\n    <p>Access to modern care, speed of response, quality of treatment \u2013 these are the cornerstones of safety for the inhabitants of border regions. Experts from both countries shared their experiences and visions for further improvements in emergency response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"widget-quote\">\n  <blockquote class=\"widget-quote__blockquote\" style=\"max-width: 600px\">\n    <p>The EMERGENCY project has not only a local but also a European dimension. It responds to the challenges contained in the new EU Preparedness Union Strategy for risks and crises.
