Numbers usually reflect reality in the simplest and most specific way, that is why we present the \u2018Programme in numbers\u2019 series, previously carried out on the PBU 2014-2020 website, to showcase the Interreg NEXT Poland \u2013 Ukraine 2021-2027 Programme, its projects, activities and joint cross-border achievements through the lens of numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PL-UA 2021-2027 Programme implements projects that aim to protect and maintain fragile natural resources in the Polish-Ukrainian border area. These areas are particularly vulnerable to pollution caused by human activity and the effects of climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Programme focuses on the protection of areas that are unique in terms of biodiversity, including those belonging to the Natura 2000 and Emerald Network (pan-European ecological network of Areas of Special Conservation Interest) and those protected under national legislation in Poland and Ukraine. Support is also being given to initiatives to improve connectivity between transboundary ecological corridors to facilitate the movement of animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
