On 9th<\/sup> August 2025, the Volunteer Fire Department in Pi\u0119tki-Gr\u0119zki (Podlaskie voivodeship) received a modern heavy rescue and firefighting vehicle purchased as part of the PL-UA project \u201cJoint actions to improve cooperation in preventing natural disasters and climate threats in the cross-border area of Poland and Ukraine\u201d (acronym FirePrev<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by the representatives of the Volunteer Fire Department from the commune and local authorities, as well as residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Two years ago, no one expected that such a vehicle could appear in this unit. That’s when we began our efforts to obtain funding under the Interreg NEXT Programme Poland \u2013 Ukraine 2021-2027 (…). Who would have thought that such a small municipality and modest unit could obtain funding under such a Programme? To paraphrase a classic saying, one could say: \u2018What\u2019s the harm in dreaming?\u2019. We dreamed, and we really succeeded,\u201d said Piotr Uszy\u0144ski, Mayor of Klukowo Commune.<\/p>\n
