European Commission has approved the fourth version of the Programme Document
We are pleased to announce that on 2nd September this year, the European Commission approved the fourth version of the Programme document, following a decision taken by the Monitoring Committee of the Interreg NEXT Poland – Ukraine 2021-2027 Programme via written procedure on 7th May 2025.
The updated document reflects modifications that concern primarily:
- the scope of the Priority BORDERS, related indicators, and intervention categories,
- the scope of the Priority ACCESSIBILITY, related indicators, and intervention categories,
- Appendix 3: List of planned operations of strategic importance that contains the large infrastructure strategic projects under priorities BORDERS (1 LIP) and ACCESSIBILITY (4 LIPs).
Additionally, minor modifications were also introduced to Table 9 with the Programme authorities’ contact details.
At the same time, we inform that, since the changes introduced to the Programme document do not cause significant effects on the environment, including on Natura 2000 sites, the updated document does not require a strategic environmental assessment (SEA), pursuant to Polish law: Article 48(1) of the Act of 3 October 2008 on Providing Information on the Environment and Environmental Protection, Public Participation in Environmental Protection and on Environmental Impact Assessments.
We believe that these changes reflect our continued commitment to fostering strong, lasting, and effective cross-border cooperation between Poland and Ukraine. In particular, the inclusion of large infrastructure projects of strategic importance under the BORDERS and ACCESSIBILITY priorities marks a significant step forward in supporting regional development and connectivity. We look forward to implementing projects that will deliver tangible, long-term benefits for communities on both sides of the border.
