52.5 million EUR for Polish-Ukrainian road and rail investments and 5.1 million EUR for small circular economy projects allocated by the PL-UA Programme.
The Monitoring Committee of the PL-UA Programme approved the funding of six new projects during its meeting on October 8.
Infrastructure Investments
A total of 41.85 million EUR has been allocated to the implementation of 4 road projects under the ACCESSIBILITY priority. These funds will support the modernisation of regional roads on the Polish side near Augustów, Tomaszów Lubelski, Sokołów Podlaski, and Krościenko.
Additionally, under the BORDERS priority, a project worth 10.72 million EUR will include the renovation of tracks on railway line no. 101 and at the Werchrata station on the Polish side, as well as the modernisation of the railway station in Lviv.
Small Projects Fund
The Small Projects Fund, operated by the Ternopil Regional Development Agency (UA), will be launched soon. Within the fund, projects can be submitted for EU co-financing ranging from 20,000 to 90,000 EUR, focusing on the circular economy.
Approved Projects
Priority: ACCESSIBILITY
- Podlaskie Voivodeship – Volyn Oblast: Modernisation of roads near Augustów and Kovel → better connection to the TEN-T network, increased mobility for residents of the border region.
EU co-financing: 9.7 million EUR - Lubelskie Voivodeship – Rivne: Improved connections in Tomaszów Lubelski and Klevan → faster and safer transport of goods and passengers.
EU co-financing: 7.4 million EUR - Mazowieckie Voivodeship – Ternopil Oblast: Construction of a new road section in Sokołów Podlaski and renovation of a bridge in Terebovlia → improved traffic safety and shorter travel times.
EU co-financing: 8.1 million EUR - Podkarpackie Voivodeship – three Ukrainian oblasts: Joint project including road renovations leading to border crossings in Krościenko (PL), Bolekhiv (Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast), Nahiryane (Lviv Oblast), and Zhornava (Zakarpattya Oblast) → improved traffic flow, better transport conditions, and strengthened economic ties.
EU co-financing: 16.5 million EUR
Priority: BORDERS
- Podkarpackie Voivodeship – Lviv Oblast: Renovation of tracks on railway line no. 101 and at the Werchrata station in Poland, and modernisation of the railway station in Lviv → increased capacity and passenger comfort, infrastructure adapted to the growing cross-border traffic.
EU co-financing: 10.72 million EUR
Priority: ENVIRONMENT
- Small Projects Fund – will provide grants ranging from €20,000 to €90,000 for projects focusing on, among others, extending product life cycles and resource conservation.
EU co-financing: 5.1 million EUR

In addition, the Monitoring Committee approved funding for projects from the reserve lists, to make use of savings already emerging in ongoing projects — including 20 projects under the HEALTH priority, 44 projects under the ENVIRONMENT priority, and one project under the TOURISM priority.
At the same time, the Committee has initiated discussions on the 2028–2034 financial perspective and the continuation of Polish-Ukrainian cross-border cooperation under the proven programme framework.
