As part of the series, we will present the 13 best projects from Poland and Ukraine. Each one includes an original description of the work carried out and photographic or/and film documentation.
We are looking forward to spring and a full blossoming of the projects, but for now, we invite you to read on!
🌷‘Flower Paradise’ project
Submitted by: Mariia Pchola
School: Family from Vereshchaky, branch of the Vyshhorod General Education School, grades I–III
Participants: pupils from I–IV class, age 6–10
Author’s description of the project:
Our school is a small, family-like primary school with only 15 pupils in grades I–III. Everyone took part in the project. It took us three days to complete the project.
🧑🌾What activities did we carry out within this project?
1/ We found a neglected area – a small hill covered with litter and overgrown with wild vegetation.
2/ Together – from the youngest to the adults – we decided to transform the neglected space near the school into a cosy corner full of flowers and colors.
3/ We cleaned the area. We collected litter, removed wild plants, and cleared the ground. During the clean-up, we found many abandoned construction materials: bricks and stones. We used the bricks to create a border around the future flower bed.
4/ We planted colourful autumn flowers that the children brought from home, filling this place with warmth and care.
🌟Projects results:
- the area was cleared of litter and overgrown plants,
- a flower bed was created,
- the schoolyard became more beautiful and welcoming,
- a stronger sense of community and responsibility for the environment was developed.
Today, this place delights everyone with its colours and reminds us that teamwork can truly work wonders.

Also watch the video we received from the Family from Vereshchaky after they received their awards. We are happy to see that children in our border region not only care about nature but also have imagination and plenty of creative ideas.📽️Video → link to FB
