When the hospital comes closer to people…

Rapid diagnostics and timely medical care can fundamentally change the course of events and save lives. Emergency medicine, based on modern technologies and the coordinated work of professionals, is now a necessity for our communities, especially in times of war. The RescueCars project addresses this urgent need by enabling hospitals in Ivano-Frankivsk and Łosice to provide cutting-edge solutions for rapid response and advanced diagnostics.

At this stage, the project partners can already report tangible results: in December, the Municipal Clinical Hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk received an emergency medical vehicle and a mobile X-ray unit. The new equipment will significantly strengthen the city’s healthcare system, particularly in diagnostics and the transport of critically ill patients. The emergency vehicle will be used to transport patients both within the city and beyond its limits, ensuring fast and safe transfer to specialised medical facilities.

In fact, the new ambulance is equipped in such a way that it functions as a resuscitation unit on wheels, says project manager Valentyna Shuliak.

To further enhance diagnostic capabilities, a portable ultrasound device is planned to be purchased as part of the project.

The community particularly benefits from the mobile X-ray unit, which enables diagnostics to be performed directly at the patient’s location. This is particularly important for residents of remote communities who often lack easy access to a hospital. Thanks to the mobile X-ray, doctors will be able to carry out diagnostics promptly and detect serious diseases, including tuberculosis or oncological conditions, at early stages, when treatment is most effective. Examinations are conducted immediately on site, and the results are analysed online by doctors directly at the medical facility. If a pathology is detected, the patient is promptly referred to the appropriate specialist for further treatment.

In this way, our hospital literally becomes closer to people, says Valentyna Shuliak.

On the other side of the border, the hospital building in Łosice has already been modernised, and an ambulance as well as modern diagnostic equipment have already been purchased.

Above all, the RescueCars project is an investment in human life. New equipment, modern ambulances, and improved working conditions for medical staff mean faster decisions in critical situations and more lives saved. For residents of cross-border communities, this provides confidence that help will arrive on time, even in today’s most challenging conditions.
