On 16 March, at the Center of European Projects (the seat of the Joint Secretariat of the Programme), we organised a meeting for over 30 students from the School of Public Management of the Ukrainian Catholic University, a Lviv-based higher education institution active, among others, in the fields of social sciences, management, and public administration. The participants included master’s students in public administration and management, as well as representatives of local and regional authorities and public sector managers from across Ukraine.
During the meeting, we aimed to present the key aspects of implementing an EU-funded Interreg Programme, enabling participants to better understand the requirements and challenges related to the implementation of cross-border cooperation programmes, as well as the responsibilities associated with project delivery. In this context, we discussed, among others, the role of the Joint Secretariat and its tasks related to Programme management, support for beneficiaries, and monitoring of project implementation. We also presented examples of projects implemented under the Programme and outlined opportunities for Ukrainian partners to participate in cross-border cooperation initiatives.
The meeting had an informative and educational character and provided an opportunity for exchange of experience and discussion on the practical aspects of project implementation within cross-border cooperation programmes. The participants showed strong interest in the topic and actively engaged in the discussion, sharing their questions and insights. The visit served as a good example of cooperation with academic institutions from Ukraine and efforts to promote knowledge about the Programme among future public sector leaders.
