Numbers are the best way to illustrate the scale of activities and the pace at which cross-border cooperation is developing under the PL-UA Programme. They help paint a clear picture of the joint actions, projects, and initiatives implemented on both sides of the border.
This time, we take a closer look at the area covered by the Programme.
177,128 km²
This is the total area covered by the Interreg NEXT Poland – Ukraine 2021-2027 Programme.
This vast area on both sides of the border includes:
- 4 Polish regions:
- Podlaskie Voivodeship,
- Mazowieckie Voivodeship (Ostrołęka and Siedlce subregions),
- Lubelskie Voivodeship,
- Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
- 6 Ukrainian regions:
- Volyn Oblast,
- Lviv Oblast,
- Zakarpattya Oblast,
- Rivne Oblast,
- Ternopil Oblast,
- Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.
It is across this area that partners from Poland and Ukraine implement projects that strengthen cross-border cooperation and address common challenges, from environmental protection and security to healthcare, transport and tourism.
One figure therefore shows not only the territorial scale of the Programme, but also the space in which Polish-Ukrainian cross-border cooperation is growing and developing.
