On 21st October 2025, the European Union Career Day took place at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in Ukraine. This event has become a regular feature in the city’s academic calendar. The initiative was organised by the European Union Delegation to Ukraine.

EU Career Day is an annual initiative designed to help students and young people gain a better understanding of the modern labour market, explore new career paths, and learn about job opportunities in Europe. The event combined education, inspiration, and networking, as it has in previous years.

Participants enjoyed discussion panels, workshops, employer presentations, volunteer initiatives, and many other activities aimed at enhancing both professional and social skills.

This year, the team from the Branch Office of the Joint Secretariat in Lviv participated for the first time. Experts presented the Programme’s objectives, gave examples of Polish-Ukrainian projects and established direct contact with potential applicants – students and academic staff. Students who answered questions correctly about the Programme and the European Union received gifts and promotional materials.

The 2025 EU Career Day was held in a hybrid format, combining online presentations with in-person discussions. A key highlight of the programme was a panel discussion titled ‘European Union Regional Policy and Cohesion Policy’, devoted to the EU’s experience in strengthening regional cooperation and cohesion, and adapting these practices in Ukraine in the context of decentralisation reforms and the European integration process. One of the panel speakers, Vasyl Khimyak, head of the Branch Office of the Joint Secretariat in Lviv, shared his insights on implementing cross-border projects along the Polish-Ukrainian border.

Overall, EU Career Day serves as a valuable space for exchanging experiences and building relationships. The participation of Programme representatives in this initiative helped enhance its visibility among young audiences and demonstrated the tangible benefits of international cooperation.
