Category: Project News

The priority ENVIRONMENT was the focus of attention for the participants of the Partner Search Forum, which took place on 26-28th April in Lublin. It was attended by representatives of more than 100 institutions and organizations from Poland and Ukraine, which are interested in submitting projects in the upcoming call of the Interreg NEXT Program Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027.

Most of the Forum’s participants were local government officials and members of non-governmental organizations. There were also representatives of nature conservation institutions, universities, regional development agencies and emergency services. Director of the Center of European Projects Dr. Leszek Buller stressed that future project partners will have to face the challenges of climate change, while striving to improve the cleanliness of the environment, including border waters. Guest of the event Deputy Marshall of the Lublin Voivodeship Zbigniew Wojciechowski drew attention to the need to increase the Programme's budget due to the consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine, which also pose a challenge for its western part and the entire Ukrainian-Polish borderland.

In the first part of the Forum, participants had the opportunity to learn about the general assumptions of the new Programme and good practices of environmental projects from the past years. There was also time for questions and answers, among them those on how to submit applications: - ‘We will be working on the basis of an electronic system, soon this system will be launched’, explained Tomasz Jędrzejewski, Deputy Head of the Joint Secretariat. Answers to many questions can also be found in the presentations of the Forum speakers:

The second part of the event was devoted to establishing partnerships, identifying needs and common goals. Future applicants presented their institutions and organizations in three thematic groups corresponding to the specific objectives of the ENVIRONMENT priority.  In total, more than 300 institutions and organizations from both sides of the border reo participate in the nature forum. Here is their full list:

- PL institutions
- UA institutions

Remember that you can also use the PARTNER SEARCH tab on our website. After the launch of the call for proposals in both priorities, all those who are interested will have the opportunity to take part in trainings, which will be held in each region and will also be available online.
