Programme in numbers: 58.61 km of modernised roads

Under the Large Infrastructure Projects (LIPs), partners will reconstruct or upgrade key road sections on both sides of the border, increasing road safety, route capacity, and accessibility to border crossings and transport hubs.


Thanks to four projects implemented under the ACCESSIBILITY priority, partners will modernise

58.61 km of roads

including:

  • 57.76 km of roads outside the TEN-T network
  • 0.85 km of roads within the TEN-T network.

As part of the projects, partners will, among others:

  • CrossBorderRoads – reconstruct 0.59 km of Road No. 662 in Poland together with a new bridge, and renovate 8.38 km of Road M-19 in Ukraine; construct sidewalks and bicycle paths.
  • Bridge850PL-UA – modernise 10.54 km of Regional Road No. 850 in Poland and 2.12 km of Road H-22 in Ukraine; improve pavement load-bearing capacity, intersections, and pedestrian and cycling infrastructure.
  • DriveConnect – reinforce road surfaces and improve drainage on key road sections with a total length of 30.93 km in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship and in the Lviv, Zakarpattya, and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblasts; construct sidewalks and bicycle paths and implement an intelligent traffic management system.
  • SafeRoad4All – reconstruct 5.2 km of Regional Road No. 627 in Poland, as well as a bridge and 0.85 km of access roads (TEN-T) in Terebovlia (UA), install new lighting, sidewalks, drainage systems, and road safety solutions.

The projects will contribute to improved mobility of people and goods and to strengthening the links of border regions with the TEN-T network and the EU–Ukraine Solidarity Lanes.
