Preparations are underway for the new edition of the Programme, taking into account the guidelines set by the European Commission and the findings of the working groups established, as well as drawing on the results of extensive public consultations.
- 2024 – extensive public consultations on the future of the Programme and the directions of cooperation in the Polish-Ukrainian and Polish-Belarusian border regions. The consultations were conducted via an online survey and during 10 meetings with stakeholders (institutions and organisations) from across the Programme area. Among the future directions for cross-border cooperation mentioned most frequently by both residents and stakeholders were:
- environmental protection,
- tourism development,
- border security,
- development/promotion of new technologies,
- road infrastructure.
- 2025 – The European Commission publishes proposals for regulations for the 2028–2034 financial perspective.
- 2026 – establishment of a working group to develop the new Programme.
