Human life is incredibly valuable, and the recent war has led to a significant increase in emergencies. The current system for providing pre-medical care and medical evacuation is inefficient, resulting in loss of life.

The RescueFirstAid project aims to strengthen the capabilities of emergency services rescue teams and medical rescue units in the cross-border area, enabling them to provide essential medical aid to victims. The project partners plan to purchase rescue and medical equipment, including ATVs, high mobility cars with equipment, a C.H.A.R.L.I.E. newborn phantom for cardiopulmonary resuscitation with an interactive ECG simulator, and a phantom-head for intubation Ambu Airway Management Trainer cross-section, among others. This equipment will facilitate a prompt response to emergencies and enable qualified first aid to be provided to victims during the critical “golden hour”. Additionally, a mobile application called “Poryatunok” will be launched for Ukrainian citizens, providing rescue teams with relevant information about the location and medical equipment or medicines needed during the rescue operations. The project also includes joint training and internships for Ukrainian rescuers with Polish medical and rescue teams based on international standards. Two international conferences will be conducted  to discuss and develop joint solutions for interaction during emergency events in the cross-border region. Furthermore, methodological recommendations will be developed based on round tables, practical training and partner meetings.

The project will help to establish cross-border cooperation between emergency services and medical units of both countries. Through this project, Ukrainian rescue services will be gain knowledge to join the International Commission for Alpine Rescue (IKAR-CISA).
