We invite you to read ‘The CROSSBORDERER’ 2025!

16.01.2026

‘Despite difficult times’ is the theme of the latest issue of our magazine, ‘The CROSSBORDERER’. Reading it is a good opportunity to summarise the past year and reflect on what has been achieved in the projects and the Programme.

The 2025 issue of ‘The CROSSBORDERER’ magazine opens with a very interesting interview with Jozef Michálek, a European Commission desk officer of the Interreg NEXT Poland – Ukraine Programme.

In these unprecedented times, we need cooperation more than ever. The solid basis of cooperation between Poland and Ukraine has shown its added value and brought undoubted benefits. Therefore, I would like to wish everyone a lot of strength in building our common future — says our interviewee.

In this issue, we summarise what is happening in the projects, how many of them have already been contracted, and how many are still ahead of us. We also do not forget about smaller but very important Polish-Ukrainian projects, i.e. calls for small projects. We also help you follow internal events step by step: the results of the Monitoring Committee’s work, training courses, conferences and consultations, as well as the new structure of the Programme. We are happy to return to the promotional events of 2025, where many of you will also be able to find your memories.

We also explore the Programme area together. In the new section, ‘Borderlands’, which will present cross-cutting issues, this time we write about the nature of this part of Europe. In ‘Portraits of Regions’, we present the Ternopil and Podlaskie regions. Finally, we invite you to the ‘Kaleidoscope’ with a popular series of stories from projects, a presentation of a cookbook on borderland cuisine published by the Programme, and a quiz where you can test your knowledge.

The year 2025 marks the 35th anniversary of Interreg, which has become a symbol of cross-border cooperation in Europe and a tool for pursuing a coherent policy in the cross-border area. We are delighted to be part of the large European family. Interreg is also one of the bridges to full integration with EU structures — emphasised Andrzej Słodki, Head of the Joint Secretariat, summing up the past year.
