Hospitals on both sides of the Polish-Ukrainian border frequently struggle to provide services in adequate quantity and quality due to outdated equipment and facilities. The burden on these hospitals has grown during the Russia's military aggression against Ukraine because of the influx of refugees and wounded soldiers. There is a continuously rising demand for minimally invasive and non-invasive surgeries, as well as orthopedic procedures.
Theoverall objective of the NonInvasiveCare project is to improve the accessibility and resilience of healthcare services in the areas of minimally invasive and non-invasive surgeries and orthopedic interventions in the Białystok and Khust areas. This will be achieved by modernizing medical infrastructure and equipment, and through knowledge and experience exchange. As part of the project, both hospitals will acquire specialized medical equipment, which will enhance the effectiveness of diagnostics (such as X-ray and ultrasound machines) and improve surgical and orthopedic treatments (including laparoscopy systems, arthroscopy stands, hysteroscopes, etc.). Additionally, the operating block at Khust hospital will be reconstructed. The competencies of the medical staff in surgery and orthopedics will also be enhanced through two conferences and four training sessions.
The project will help raise medical care standards and improve patient outcomes. The cross-border collaboration will boost the project's efficiency and sustainability, as the established partnerships will unite the efforts of both countries in working towards the common goal of improving public health and well-being.
