Ідея проекту (англійською мовою):

Restoration and management of semi-natural dry calcareous grasslands Problem: due to cessation of traditional management, afforestation, plowing etc. habitats with the highest biodiversity level within Europe dramatically decrease in quality and size, suffering fragmentation, isolation and successive processes. Aim: conservation and restoration of semi-natural calcareous grasslands Objectives: restoration and maintenance of the habitats enhancement of biodiversity level in degraded sites establishment of cooperation with local communities to renew traditional management and deepen understanding about threats to biodiversity and importance of its conservation. Main results: Improvement of the state of xerothermic grasslands (shrubs and trees will be thinned, invasive species and plant litter - removed, vegetation - grazed and moved); Increase of biodiversity level at the patches; Establishment of the Center of Grasslands Restoration and Management; Propagation of ecological knowledge among local communities and their engagement into nature conservation and grasslands management
