CrossEco: Integrated Solutions for a Shared Environment
Small Projects Fund in the Polish–Ukrainian border area (acronym: CrossEco)

The objective of the CrossEco project is to increase the engagement of residents and institutions in activities supporting sustainable waste management through the development of cross-border cooperation, raising environmental awareness, and implementing practical solutions for waste reduction, segregation, and reuse.

The implementation of cross-border small projects aims to improve the efficiency of waste management systems, as well as to promote and transfer good practices, including solutions aligned with EU standards.

Basic principles of small projects

  • TOPICS:
    • joint initiatives aimed at improving municipal waste management and the treatment of residual waste, as well as promoting innovative solutions related to the transition to a circular economy;
    • promotion of sustainable waste management (waste reduction, segregation, increased recycling and reuse), along with raising awareness of environmental challenges.
  • GRANT VALUE: 20 000 – 90 000 EUR
  • CO-FUNDING: up to 90% of eligible expenditure
  • DURATION: maximum 12 months
  • PARTNERSHIP RULES: at least one partner from Poland and one partner from Ukraine
  • ELIGIBLE INSTITUTIONS: local and regional authorities, their subordinate bodies and non-governmental organisations with legal personality
  • ELIGIBLE AREA – the entire Programme area, i.e.:
    Poland – voivodeships: Podlaskie, Mazowieckie (subregions: ostrołęcki and siedlecki), Lubelskie, Podkarpackie
    Ukraine – oblasts: Lviv, Volyn, Zakarpattya, Rivne, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk

In the first half of 2026, a call for proposals is planned, which we will announce on the Operator’s website, the Programme website in news section, the dedicated SPF section, and on the Programme’s Facebook profile.
