The welfare of local communities and the state of the environment are significantly affected by poor water supply and wastewater treatment systems. Moreover, these environmental issues influence the areas' investment attractiveness and development potential. Being aware of this, the partners from Tomaszów Lubelski and Solonka have decided to take joint actions to improve water management services in their regions.
The key element of EcoReserve project is the construction of a sewage treatment plant in Solonka, along with the renovation and modernization of the water and sewage network in Tomaszów Lubelski. These improvements will enhance public water supply and wastewater treatment for thousands of residents. In particular, the project will lead to higher living standards and comfort, reduced sewage disposal costs, better access to clean and safe drinking water, and an overall improvement in the quality of the natural environment in which people live. Information and educational activities such as an Ecological Forum, study visits, and a conference are an essential part of the project as they enable maintaining project results in the long run and promote the implementation of sustainable management practices and local development. Conducting educational activities in schools will raise awareness and build pro-environmental attitudes among children and youth, while outdoor picnics will encourage ecological behaviour among residents.
The EcoReserve project implementation will have multiple benefits for both the environment and public health on both sides of the border. It will also improve the attractiveness of both areas and foster cross-border interaction between the residents.
