Numbers usually reflect reality in the simplest and most specific way, that is why we present the 'Programme in numbers' series, previously carried out on the PBU 2014-2020 website, to showcase the Interreg NEXT Poland – Ukraine 2021-2027 Programme, its projects, activities and joint cross-border achievements through the lens of numbers.

In the 2021-2027 edition of the Programme, we support institutions and services in adapting to climate change and preventing natural disasters. Our goal is to enable project beneficiaries to acquire the latest equipment, exchange experiences, and develop skills that will allow them to respond more effectively to events such as fires, storms or droughts. This support will ultimately help protect the natural environment, residents of the border area, and their property.
The activities are implemented through projects under the ENVIRONMENT priority, specific objective 1.1: Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention and resilience, taking support will ultimately into account an eco-system based approach.
53 rescue vehicles will be purchased
These vehicles are intended to respond to fires in various areas, including mountainous regions – as the Carpathians are a significant part of the Programme area on both sides of the border. Rescue operations will also address water rescue needs, and for this purpose, the projects will purchase:
