Historical parks are where nature meets art and where memories of the past act as a pretext for reality. Located around the former family estates of nobility the parks in Vyshnivets and Tarnobrzeg are unique natural sites with an exciting past. Unfortunately, these areas are not very popular due to their poor infrastructure. They require checking of natural assets, protection, and relevant maintenance.
The EcoParks project will help to create new attractive park spaces while preserving their natural heritage. The partners also plan to improve the condition of the green areas. The reconstruction of the parks will be preceded by historical analysis, dendrological inventory, dendrochronological analysis, geodetic inventory, revitalisation concept, design, etc. The park in Vyshnivets will become more comfortable for visitors as the facilities for rest, and enjoyment of nature will be created including the construction of a gazebo/pavilion, restoration of alleys, reconstruction of the park's retaining walls, laying of a new water supply network and new external sewage network, installation of lighting. In Tarnobrzeg, the reconstruction of park alleys' surfaces is planned, as well as the installation of landscaping elements (benches, trash cans, bicycle racks, drinking fountain, and information boards), installation of park lighting and monitoring system. Trees and shrubs will be planted in both parks to restore their historical species composition. The interactive tourist applications will be developed with routes and a map of the plant cover of both parks. Cross-border scientific conferences and ecological actions will be organised.
The project will improve the image of both towns and the well-being of their inhabitants bringing multiple benefits for the environment.
